2. to provide sanctuary and retreat for Christian organizations, pastors, and missionaries

3. to become a seminal center for the distribution of spiritual media for those who

LOGO EXPOSITION:

The logo is based on the belief that we are living in the “end times” which means that at any time Jesus Christ can return and the shofar (trumpet) will be blown according to Matthew 24:31.

“And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” The trumpet is the sound of prophetic utterance. Before the final trumpet sounds this ministry announces HOPE to all nations which can be found in the love and grace of Jesus Christ the Messiah and Savior for the world. The banner symbolizes Victory! The “tallit” or prayer shawl is represented by the fringes at the bottom of the banner which symbolizes this ministry’s commitment to prayer.

B. ABOUT THE MINISTER:

EVANGELIST AND FOREIGN MISSIONARY
REV. JOY KARANICK
AUTHOR: PROMISES PROMISES
BORN: May 30, 1959

Joy is an Ambassador for Christ. Her life’s journey has proven that success can only come from God. Joy strayed from God as an adolescent. She felt the Lord’s call to ministry when she was only sixteen years old, yet she fought that call for almost thirty years. At the peak of her seemingly successful career, she took a downward spiral into a depression so deep, so impassable that she could only escape by yielding to the call that she had long ignored. It was during her time of brokenness that she realized that she was nothing without God.

Joy was born in Albertville, Alabama but calls Birmingham “home”. She now resides in Pasadena, CA. She is the only daughter of five children born of Pastor Billy and Betty Karanick. Her father currently pastors at the Church of the Nazarene in Stanton, California.

Her journey afforded her the opportunity to travel 50 states and 27 countries. Joy had a successful career in the United States Navy as a Registered Nurse where she worked her way through the ranks, ultimately to achieve the rank of Commander. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Holy Names College in Oakland and later her Master’s in Management from Troy State University. Joy graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary with a Master’s in Theology and a Master’s in Cross-Cultural Studies in June, 2006.

Although her ministry is still young, God has used her powerfully as an Evangelist in an ecumenical call to the nations. She has preached in African American churches, Egyptian and Jordanian churches, Filipino, Korean, conferences, assisted living homes, and various denominations including Presbyterian, United Methodist, Pentecostal, Nazarene, Baptist, and Catholic. Her foreign mission travels include the Philippines, Kenya, Sudan and Uganda. For the past four years she has held Bible study every week for the Hispanic and African American children in her apartment complex who range from 1 year of age to seventeen. Attendance ranges from ten to twenty children every week. Attendance seems the highest when she takes them on outings like swimming at the lake, hiking, or picnics in the park.

Joy is the author of PROMISES PROMISES which provides the details of her testimony and gives witness to the fact that God has a plan for each of us and will fulfill that plan until the day of Jesus Christ. Joy also appeared on three occasions as guest for an Orange County local Time Warner Cable show---Reflections. Her first appearance was to proclaim Jesus through the telling of her testimony and her other appearances is a two part series about her recent mission in Kenya and Sudan.

Joy recognizes that each part of her life has been training ground for what is yet to come. She knows that somehow God is combining all of the multiple experiences and will continue to use them for His Glory. She has come to the place in God where she relies totally on Him to provide for her and direct her way.

She considers herself now a COMMANDER IN GOD’S ARMY. A WOMAN WARRIOR, A PRAYER WARRIOR, A FIGHTER---ALL FOR THE CROSS.
